Cars belonging to individual Members who live on the Estate are entitled to a car emblem (currently green) which allows them full rights of access over Estate roads. Other regular users of the roads may be supplied with different coloured emblems which indicate access for specific purposes, such as visitors to schools and to golf club.
All emblems are numbered and apply only to the vehicle for which they have been issued. These emblems are available from the Moor Park (1958) Ltd office. When you apply, the office staff will require you to provide the registration number of the vehicle, its make and model and may require evidence of ownership. This is to ensure that the issue of emblems remains under control and their ownership does not extend beyond people who are entitled to use the Estate roads. All emblems should be displayed on the windscreen in a clearly visible position. When you change your vehicle, please destroy the old emblem and visit the office so that the old vehicle’s details can be removed from our system and the new vehicle’s details can be entered.
The issue and the display of emblems serve two main purposes:
- it demonstrates that the use of Estate roads is permitted for a particular vehicle
- it helps security guards to identify the vehicle when checking traffic at Estate entrances or when they are carrying out their monitoring duties on vehicles around the Estate.
In addition, recording emblem data in the security system assists the police in screening known vehicles when they are using camera data to detect crime.
All gardeners, cleaners and trades people are required to display a Trade Emblem.
All family members and friends who visit the Estate on a regular basis are required to display a Temporary Visitor Emblem.
Community Emblems (black) are required for vehicles owned by people who are not Members of the Company but who live or work on the Estate.
Emblems in other colours are required for parents and staff of Merchant Taylors’ senior school and the MTS Preparatory School.
Customers of the businesses on lower Main Avenue, the Moor Park Underground station, or visitors to the schools do not require emblems to visit these locations.
Membership stickers for members of Sandy Lodge Golf Club provide evidence of their right of access through any Estate entrance to visit the golf club.
